About a year before my diagnosis an MRI showed something suspicious in my C-spine (medical term for neck connected to the spine ) and I was referred to a great surgeon. Patients come from other states to see him. The pictures showed my spine was crushing the nerves in my neck, with “A LOT” of arthritis. Surgery was my choice but it would get worse over time.
When the surgeon said I’d regain 80% use of my right hand it was hard to contain my joy! Tears welled in my husband’s eyes! Who wouldn’t elect to have surgery?
My recovery felt endless. The drugs left me dizzy and confused; out of control.
And the surgery didn’t help my hand at all…
