A Short Story

Anticipating I would have trouble using the stairs in the future and not be able to keep up with the demands of a large property we decided to sell our home of 12 years. Saddened by the thought of leaving the area and all of our great friends and neighbors we put our names on a waiting list for a single story apartment a couple blocks away. The owners of the complex said we should plan on at least a year wait.

We didn’t plan on our house selling 2 days! My husband had taken a lot of our belongings to a storage facility before listing the house (where did all this stuff come from?). We made close to $700 selling household items from our front porch. Still we needed help packing. You find out who your true friends are when you have to move! I give a grateful shoutout to my family and their friends for their hard work. We couldn’t have done it without you. And a thank you to my nephew who lives in Rhode Island who was willing to make the drive to come to our aid.

That was my attempt at making a long story short. I will write more on my condition and my symptoms along with the challenges I face physically and emotionally. But for now I have more exciting topics to write about! Stay tuned…
